Why the Airtel #300 for 1GB Social Bundle Sucks

Have you heard about the unlimited Airtel social bundle. If not, it goes for just #300 for 1 Gigabytes Data and it is just for a duration of 25 days. This social data plan has been around for some months now and still some people don’t know about it. Or let’s say some know about it but don’t use it. Why? Because it sucks.

Personally, I have been using this data plan for a while now and didn’t see anything wrong with it. Probably because I subscribed for it just for WhatsApp.

If you want to check out this data bundle, here is how to go about it.

1. Dial *141#.

2. Enter 1 for Buy data plans.

3. Enter 5 for Social Bundle.

4. Enter 4  for Unlimited Social Monthly/ N300/1GB.

5. Enter 1 to Proceed.

Or you could just dial this directly *668*1#

So this plan is called a social bundle. That means it should work for any social networking app. Not until of recent did I discover that this is not true. This plan only works for WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger(still Facebook), and it also allows you to surf the web on Opera Mini browser. I have tried it with Twitter, Instagram, and the likes, it doesn’t work. I don’t know how I am supposed to use 1Gb of data just for WhatsApp and Facebook(You can actually finish it on Facebook but am just not a fan of Facebook). Opera mini browser isn’t also an option because you can’t use it to download anything except opening of web pages and that’s all.
